Introduction

Al Taif, also known as Taif, is a city located in the southwestern region of Saudi Arabia. It is situated at an elevation of about 1,879 meters (6,165 feet) above sea level, making it one of the highest cities in the country.

Taif is known for its pleasant climate, lush greenery, and beautiful landscapes, which attract visitors from all over the kingdom. The city has a rich history and cultural heritage, with various historical sites and landmarks, including the Shubra Palace, the Okaz Souq, and the Rock Carvings site. Taif is also famous for its production of rosewater, which is extracted from the abundant rose gardens in the area.

The city has been dubbed the unofficial summer capital of Saudi Arabia, as well as the top summer destination in Saudi Arabia, due to its pleasant summer weather, in contrast to the rest of the Arabian Peninsula. The city's popularity among tourists stems from its numerous mountain resorts and mild climate, even during Arabia's scorching summers. The famous Highway connects the city to the nearby vacation town of Al-Hada.
